On the rise is Turmeric soap which has many of the same qualities as tea tree oil, but also aids in boosting the shine of your skin and in reducing those dark pigmentation spots.

What is Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree is an essential oil derived from the tea tree. It became famous mainly for its powerful anti-microbial properties and anti-inflammatory properties, and as a result, tea tree was touted as the cure for all skin problems ranging from acne to athlete’s foot.

Tea Tree oil is also a relatively economical essential oil so the use of Tea Tree oil in products was economical. This encouraged manufacturers to promote Tea Tree and its purported benefits even more resulting in a fairly hyped-up product. Now don’t get me wrong, tea tree soap is fantastic and it does work well.

Round Up

It is easy to see why turmeric soap has become the more popular choice in soaps when compared to traditional tea tree oil soap. There are just so many more benefits, especially when it comes to skin tone and reducing the appearance of dark marks on your body.

How to use Turmeric soap

First, ensure that you purchase a good quality Turmeric soap. It should ideally have a pale yellow color and fewer ingredients are better. Try to choose a soap that has Olive oil, maybe 1 other oil, and no added fragrance. Stay away from a soap that lists too many ingredients.

Rub the soap over your body to create a lather (foam). Leave on your body (or face) for 1 to 2 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Moisturize and apply sunblock as per your normal routine. Do not be tempted to leave the soap on your skin for longer periods as this could cause irritation to your skin. Wash with the soap once or twice daily.
