Dry Hands Could be Caused By Washing Dishes
Do you suffer from dry hands?
Dry hands often result from using detergents. These detergents are a group of chemicals that are specifically formulated to aggressively attack and remove any grease, oils, and dirt from your plates and laundry.

Guess what? The detergents do not distinguish between crockery, pots and pans, and your hands. As you dip your hands into the dishwashing water the detergent begins to strip all the natural fats and oils from your skin. Once your hands have dried after washing dishes you will notice that your skin feels very dry. People with sensitive skin may notice that the skin on their hands starts to crack.
Because of dry hands, you now use skin creams to relieve the dry skin. This helps, but it is not the best solution.
The average dishwashing liquid includes harsh ingredients such as:-
- Sulfonic acid
- Sodium Laurel Ether Sulphate
- Caustic soda
- Sodium Laurel Sulphate
- Coconut diethanolamide
There are usually several other ingredients as well that alter the performance or quality of each individual brand of dishwashing liquid.
Laundry powder contains equally harsh detergents that also strip your hands of all-natural oils should you be doing hand washing.
It is no wonder that your hands are suffering as a result of washing dishes.
Laundry and Dishwash Soap Bar vs Dishwash Liquid
Why are people beginning to use natural laundry and dishwash bar soap? What are the benefits of using a solid bar of soap as opposed to using the traditional liquid dishwashing detergent that we normally find on supermarket shelves?
You have probably been brought up with the notion that you have to use liquid dishwashing detergent when washing your dishes, granular soap powder for your laundry, and a soap bar for when you bathe. In addition to the above, you probably have all surface cleaners such as Handy Andy or Pine Gel. These products are all detergents that are manufactured from fairly harsh chemicals, and which strip all the natural oils from your skin.

Increasingly consumers are turning away from harsh detergents and are beginning to use gentler and softer environmentally friendly and natural products to wash dishes, laundry, and for other cleaning purposes.
Natural soaps are gentler on your skin while still being capable of cleaning the dirt and grime from your dishes and clothes.
Just a heads up on the all purpose soap????????????
It’s a win with clothes….. D…’s white shirt came out the washing machine still with tyre marks on the back…your soap took it off????????
When washing dishes, I have found that I far prefer the shower method as opposed to the bathing method. Washing dishes under running hot water while using a dish brush or cloth with natural soap is usually strong enough to remove all the dirt and grease from dishes, pots, and pans while not stripping your hands of all the natural oils.
I switched to it to try and my hands are almost completely clear????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Like anything in life, trying something new is often a daunting task. We do not like change and as we have been brought up with liquid dishwash all our lives, making the change to a solid bar can take some adjusting to.
My Tip:
Grab a bar of all-purpose natural soap and a natural dish brush and keep it at your sink. Start slowly when you have just a few dishes and work your way up until you are completely happy and confident to use the bar soap for washing all of your dishes.
Once you have gotten used to the concept of using it for dishes, try rubbing the soap on some stubborn stains in your clothes before washing. You will soon realize just how well the soap cleans.
